Gerald Wilkerson, Esquire or Jerry as his clients know him,has significant experience in Family and Criminal Law. He served in the United States Army before attending Florida International University in Miami, Florida where he graduated with Honors. He then decided to attend law school in Gainesville at the University of Florida College of Law, where he also graduated with Honors. After graduating from law school he worked as an Assistant Public Defender. As an Assistant Public Defender, Mr. Wilkerson fully represented hundreds of clients through every stage of their criminal case, including taking their case to trial when necessary. Mr. Wilkerson has trial experience in Juvenile, Misdemeanor, and Felony cases.
After leaving the Public Defender's office, Mr. Wilkerson worked for several years as a private attorney, where he practiced criminal, family, personal injury, worker's compensation, and general law, before starting his own law firm.
In addition to criminal law Mr. Wilkerson practices marital/family law. He is a member of the Florida Family Law Inns of Court, Jacksonville Bar Association, and Florida Bar and mainly represents clients involved in highly complex divorce issues. Many of clients are military members or related to military members. Also, many of his clients are seeking a modification of child support, custody, or alimony, or defending or initiating child support contempt actions, or injunctions.
