Gerald Laverne Wilkerson, began working as an attorney with the Fourth Judicial Circuit Public Defender's Office in 2000 as an Assistant Public Defender . In this position, Mr. Wilkerson represented indigent persons accused of crimes. He fully litigated all aspects of his clients' criminal defense. He came to realize two fundamental things; good people sometimes do bad things, and all people deserve the right to be treated fairly according to the law.
Mr. Wilkerson decided to enter the private arena in 2002. At that time he began practicing family law, from uncontested divorces to fully litigated complex custody divorces and everything in between. He continued to practice criminal law as well, and practiced in the areas of criminal, family, and worker's compensation law.
In 2005, the Law Office of Gerald Wilkerson was born, and Mr. Wilkerson has been busy helping people get through their difficult times since that time. Mr. Wilkerson takes pride in the fact that he brings empathy and compassion to the table, while at the same time maintaining an aggressive position in cases which call for that.
Growing up very poor, and coming from a broken home, Mr. Wilkerson understands, from personal experience, the struggles his clients face. Mr. Wilkerson practices in the areas of Bankruptcy, Divorce, and Criminal Records Sealing.
